Chin Implant

Facial Implants are frequently used alone or in combination with other facial cosmetic surgery procedures such as face-lifting, cosmetic eyelid surgery and facial and neck liposuction to enhance facial esthetics. Some individuals, usually due to heredity or aging, lack prominence of key facial features, which add to the beauty of the face.  The chin is one of the  most frequently deficient areas of the facial features. A chin implant is ideal for enhancing a deficient chin area due to its ease of placement and excellent biocompatibility. These implants are made of materials such as solid silicone (no gel) or polyethylene, implant materials which have proven safety records.

The procedure is usually peformed under light IV sedation or local anesthesia and oral sedation.  The incision is hidden in the crease under the chin and is imperceptible once healed.  The recovery time is about one week.  Subtle puffiness usually resolves by one to two months. If you think you are a candidate for placement of a chin implant, call our office today for a consultation to discuss your options.
